Virtual Office Hours +

SENT VIA EMAIL to all students of SA121.01 on 03.18.2020  3:00 PM

Good afternoon to each of you!
I want to bring you up to date for the way the class will be conducted as well as give you my VIRTUAL OFFICE HOURS.

They are M through F from 9 - 11 AM and by appointment by responding to me via email jpepper@cazenovia.edu
(Please make sure you are not using my jepepper@gmail.com or  jepepper@me.com address!)

Should this not work for you, please inform me of the time that would work best for you.
If you just need to talk, I can call you, upon your request, or FaceTime, and/or pretty much any other way you wish.

Just know that I am here for you to make these last few weeks as informative as possible, as helpful, as supportive in all the ways I know how, while gaining knowledge of the course content and quite frankly, having fun doing it!

As you know from my earlier emails, moving the course online for all your professors has been enormous.
All courses will be ready to go on MON MAR 23.
So make sure you drop into ALL your COURSES at this date, should you not have been contacted already by one of your profs.

Our Painting SA121 course luckily has been on-line all along.
Yahhoooo!!
This way you all know how to maneuver the blog and gain what you need to know.
I will be mounting additional videos, lectures, student critiques, class notes, links, just as I always have, so you can have access to them at any time.

What you won’t have to do:
You will NOT have to come into a video conference call at a certain time to have access to one of my lectures.
All of these will be mounted to view at your preferred scheduled time best for you!
But you must be responsible for the content of the course!
Instead, like always, you will be able to see all lecture notes on our class blog at SP2020cazSA121.blogspot.com
This is why I wanted to make sure you are able to navigate the course blog easily!!

I want you to make use of the course ON YOUR TIME!
That being said, as your professor, I am still expecting 10 - 12 hours of class work per week to be a successful participant in the course.
Doing this will assist you in completing this course successfully!

You each know from my earlier notifications that I had extended RESEARCH PAPER #1/2
Sent to you via 03.13.2020 > please send remotely to Pepper on MAR 24th at jpepper@cazenovia.edu with the subject title: Your last name / paper #1/2
WORD.doc only with your images embedded. Follow exactly what the assignment asks of you. This has not changed.

Research Paper #2/2 will be announced shortly and posted to the blog.
Like always, you can send me a draft of this paper 10 calendar days in advance of the due date.
You also have available at your fingertips CTL tutors on-line. Check with their offices.

I will alert each member of the class of any changes to the blog that is made via email — so, obviously, check this regularly too!

Your Sketchbook needs to still show evidence of research activity in completing 40 entries, 3 per week.  The only difference to this is that you will be making your posts from week 7 following onto the your personal Launch Pad found on the blog.
I will be posting a NEW Course Calendar with dates shortly and will alert you of the same.

So I hope this answers any questions no doubt, each of you are thinking about.
If I have not answered them, please ask via an email.

Best to each of you, your family and all your friends!
In Health!!

NEW COURSE CALENDAR + more

The Nutz & Boltz of it... As I know that each of our lives have taken extremely different shapes following the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am NOT requiring for all of us to come together to follow a lecture or demo at a certain time on a certain day.  But rather, you will have the opportunity to do that at any time following my posting course information on our various sites including this blog,  FaceBook Group,  uploaded videos and lectures.   1.  As a student of SA 121 you need to check into our class blog SP2020CazSA121.blogspot.com between the hours of  9 am and 6 PM on TUE & THU  and to our blog and our FaceBook Group page,  minimum.   Make note of this in your personal calendars. 2.  I will alert you to any new updates to our blog pages through your CAZ email as I post them.  This is your responsibility alone to keep a close eye on your email. 3.  Each Friday morning  I...

Great images to SHARE to remind YOU of something very important!

BLUE SKIES...   oh, yes, indeed! Here are a few captured moments that I want to share with each of you, reminding all of us there are many, many individuals who care about each of us while we  shelter in place. Let's play this gesture forward.  Your job is this:  Make a textual sign of your wishes for others. Go to three interesting locations and take your image message. Send me a jpg at  jpepper@cazenovia.edu You may also use any other type of visual text you wish to include... Thank you one and all!! From Noel Evelyn Madden... From Jess Kane From Tessa Barry

ARTrage Call to Artists to Respond!

THIS IS A  CALL FOR ART   THAT MANY OF YOU SHOULD CONSIDER SUBMITTING YOUR WORK. An artist prepares his graffiti with the inscription  "The Corona Virus Is A Wake Up Call And Our Chance To Build A New And Loving Society" on a wall in the slaughterhouse district in Munich, Germany. Photo: AFP  (Agence France-Presse) Dear ArtRage exhibited artists,  We miss you!  ArtRage has been closed to the public for over a month and we are deeply missing our friends, volunteers and supporters along with the social interactions at gallery openings, lectures, films and other events here at ArtRage. We are reaching out to our community of artists to invite you to share a recent work or project with our ArtRage community.  This tumultuous period of social distancing, isolation, quarantine, cancellations, and closures is having an immense impact on the art community and society at large. As the coronavirus pandemic sweeps the globe, non-essential...
